Early adopter blues?

September 5, 2007 06:08 PM

Am I bummed that Apple dropped the price of the 8 GB iPhone by $200 today? Well, yeah, I certainly would've liked to save that money on my phone, but I can't pretend that this is unexpected. I didn't think that price drops would happen this quickly, but I'm not going to put up a big stink about it. The retail prices of consumer electronics gear, especially cell phones, drops (rather precipitously, usually) over time; it's the nature of the business.

I like the evaluation over at Daring Fireball the best - "...if you didn't think the iPhone was worth $599, you shouldn't have bought it." I still think mine is worth every penny.

In a related topic, I'm excited that someone is willing to pay money (at least $15) over at eBay for my three-generations-ago, broken Treo 600.

I got GarageSale for cheap through MacZot a while ago. They sell a new piece of Mac software every day, just for that day. I've bought a few things through there, although I haven't looked at it much lately.
