While at the MFA for the Edward Hopper exhibit this weekend I stopped into the musical instruments room to see what interesting old stuff was there. Among the armonicas (or maybe armonicae), zither, and harpsichords, I found this 19th-century Martin guitar that's been built with a solid ivory neck and bridge. As nice as it looks, all I can think of how heavy and fatiguing on your left hand that would be. I'll stick to Pau Ferro for my homemade guitar's fingerboard.
