That damn BMW 5-Series with the "PNK RCK" license plate passed me again this morning. Putting these plates on that car is, of course, one of the least punk rock things that you can do.

Link Wray, the inventor of the power chord, has passed away. What have you contributed to guitar playing lately? To be honest, I don't really know much about him. However, anyone who can directly influence some jug-jigga-jug-jigga-jaa-jaaaaaa action is alright with me.
Now playing: Tom Vek - We Have Sound

Today I just want to tell you about my favorite salad dressing of the week. It went very well on the salad greens + crispy chow mein noodles + clementine (I didn't have mandarin) oranges salad that I made. So, the recipe is:
1/3 cup fresh lime juice
1/3 cup honey
3/4 cup oil
a bit of nutmeg and grated lime peel
Beat the lime juice, honey, and powdery stuff in a bowl, whilst slowly pouring in the oil. Then eat it. If you're like me, then you might appreciate some of the tips and recipes here.
Wholly unrelated, but it looks like I have the same opinions of the Ticketmaster website as a pair of frogs. And I'm happy about this.
Now playing: Broadcast - Tender Buttons

I have a request for any of my readers who might ever be interviewed by NPR or any other talk radio. Please, I beg, do not continually smack your lips while you're talking. No matter how heartfelt your story might be, it drives me completely bonkers and I immediately cease being able to follow the story.

Sigur Ros tickets for their show at the Orpheum Theater went on sale about 1/2 hour ago. Fortunately, I just remembered and was able to snag two orchestra section tickets. They're in the back, so they seem to be going quickly. After missing their last show in town (thanks for the MP3s!) I wasn't going to let that happen again. So, if you want tickets, get to TM post-haste (that's fun to say).
I've seen them a few times already and have been blown away each time. The first time I saw them was in 2000 opening up for Godspeed You Black Emperor at The Cockpit (I think) in Leeds. At that point, I had just heard "Svef-g-Englar" and was slightly surprised to see a man singing. They blew me away then, so I've seen them just once more at Berklee Performance Center in Boston.
Oh, wow, here are reviews of the shows that I've seen from the band's official page. The site is called "18 Seconds Before Sunrise" which I think is just a beautiful image. It's probably the best description of the band that I've ever heard.

I've been laboring the past few evenings over this weekend's party playlist. The inital list of songs, which was just put together by me thinking of anything that I might like to play was almost eight hours long. Not bad, but I want to get it a bit closer to six. Maybe I'll post the final playlist up here after the party. If you're coming to the party, do you have any requests? If you're not coming to the party, do you want to request an invitation?

I'm feeling pretty lazy today, but I feel like I need to get out. Tonight, I could choose either Super Furry Animals at the Roxy, or Tom Vek at TT's. SFA are sure to be good, and I've seen them before. Tom is new and I still haven't listened to the whole album, so it's a bit more risky. Tomorrow night's Broadcast show at the Paradise is another possibility, but I've seen them a couple of times and again haven't heard much of the new album. If anyone wants to go to any of these, lemme know.
